So I came across this picture on Pinterest and I absolutely had to make it. I found the fabric at Jo-Ann’s and took the whole spool which was about three yards. I measured how long I wanted it and cut out three rectangular shaped panels and sew them together leaving about five inches open for the arm. I hemmed all sides and both arm holes and wore it as contrast with a maxi dress in the summer.
For the fall, I added sleeves and a hood. The hood was a bit tricky for me because there are so many ways to design it. I really didn’t know which style would suit the cardigan until I did a little research on it via YouTube. I wanted to see how the different DIYERS created their hooded looks. From all the videos I watched, I was able to create a design that would go with my cardigan and it was easier than I thought.
The sleeves were easy. I just traced one and cut out two from it but looking back I would have liked to have made them longer… oh well. I still love this cardigan and I can’t wait to wear it again.
